Opening doors to learning for pupils, staff and parents.

Why this is leading practice

This Disadvantaged Pupils Strategy and Action Plan sets out The Evolve Trusts’ approach for ‘Closing the Gap’ for the pupils in our care so they achieve their potential and ultimately improve their life chances. It also outlines how the three Schools; The Brunts Academy, The Beech Academy and The Bramble Academy utilise the Pupil Premium (PP) funding to effectively raise standards of attainment and achievement for all pupils. It enables staff at all levels to access and contribute to a professional learning pathway.

All Academies within the Trust provide outstanding education by creating an inspiring, opportunity-rich learning environment for all. Supporting the development of self-awareness, resilience and high aspirations enabling everyone within the Trust to have the confidence to identify and take the right opportunities.

The Evolve Trust Disadvantaged Pupils Key Aims:

Rationale / Start Point

At the Evolve Trust we recognise the importance of ensuring all pupils, whatever their background or circumstance, are provided with a quality and relevant education. This will ensure that all pupils are equipped with the knowledge and skills they will need to succeed in life beyond School.

Supporting all our pupils is the primary focus, especially supporting those disadvantaged pupils and we aim to ensure this is part of every lesson and all areas of the school. Within the classroom there will be a clear focus on narrowing the achievement gap between groups and individuals through well planned and differentiated lessons that challenge and stretch all pupils. All staff are entitled to a programme of training that allows them to continually expand and experiment with a full range of teaching strategies and techniques to ensure the achievement gap is closed rapidly through the use of timely and appropriate interventions.
